Grameena Vikas Kendram Society for Rural Development (GVK Society) is a grass root level organisation that works directly with communities on the ground. GVK Society has been working with local communities for more than 10 years and has ambitious plans to widen and deepen the impact in the region by designing, testing and scaling disruptive market-driven models in the years to come. GVK Society currently works directly with 13,000 farmer families in more than 650 villages in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, South India. GVK Society aspires to scale to 50,000 farmers outreach in the coming years and to convert 1,50,000 acres of degenerative farms into resilient and thriving regenerative landscapes.
We envision a transformed world wherein rural communities live in harmony with each other and nature. GVK Society’s mission is to build regenerative and circular agricultural supply chains that optimise value for small and marginal farmers. We strongly focus on women empowerment, carbon sequestration, improving soil water-holding capacity, elimination of harmful agrochemicals and GMOs, biodiversity conservation, and resilience at all levels. Innovation, transparency, inclusive development, respect, and mutually accountable partnerships are the critical levers for change.
