Commons are everywhere.. which is why they are hard to talk about.
Conventional climate finance often fails to recognize or reward the stewardship practices of Indigenous, grassroots, and marginalized communities—despite the fact that local communities safeguard the vast majority of the planet’s biodiversity and critical habitat. These communities are systemically excluded from governance and financial flows.
One of the core failings in climate / impact philanthropy and regenerative economics, is that the resourcing fails to put wind in the sails of local efforts, and local sensing and verification of ecological state and outcomes fails to make inform policy and decision making.
