Code of Conduct - Regen Commons

About this Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct describes a set of guidelines for behavior for participants in the Regen Commons (convened by Regen Foundation through the csDAO program). This includes Regen Foundation, its staff, contractors, csDAO representatives, validators, anyone interacting with Regen Ledger and Regen Marketplace in affiliation with Regen Foundation, and the users of Regen Foundation’s online environments such as Telegram, Commonwealth, and Hylo. When the word "we" is used in this document, it applies to all of the above.

We recognize that we all come from different backgrounds and have difference prejudices and privileges. Therefore, this Code of Conduct cannot cover all instances where people may feel left out, unsafe or uncomfortable. We want to make room for an open conversation. That is why this Code of Conduct is a living document and must be amended when necessary through active stewardship. We will adjust the document over time so that it always addresses the priorities and sensitivities within the Regen Commons. It is the collective responsibility of all of us to comply with this document and embody it in the physical and digital spaces of Regen Foundation.

Why a Code of Conduct (CoC)?

Regen Commons, and the larger Regen Network ecosystem, are a complex and dynamic community representing diverse bioregions, affinities, and experiences. We are a multilingual, multicultural, multidisciplinary group.

This can create situations where misunderstandings or conflicts arise. We strive to resolve these misunderstandings through open dialogue in support of transformative reconciliation. We assume interactions, partnerships, and collaborations are handled in mutual “good faith”, meaning that parties are present and participating through a desire to co-create positive and meaningful relationships with one another and the earth; and not intentionally harm, sabotage, nor denigrate one another. We ask individuals / organizations to communicate their concerns directly to each other if possible. Where this is not an option, this Code of Conduct may be consulted for further action. It functions as a “backstop” to ensure community safety and prosperity.

Language

At Regen Foundation, virtually all meetings are held English. We take into account the fact that many participants are not native speakers of this language. We also recognize that there are many ways of speaking and communicating (words, gestures, actions, etc.), depending on cultural backgrounds which can be difficult to translate.

Time-zone

Most of the meetings hosted by the Regen Foundation are held during business hours compatible with EST, CET, and EAT. This presents challenges to partnerships in IST, CST and PST. As a community, we will work to accommodate different time zones to the best of our ability.
